 The PROBAT Jupiter coffee roasters are a unique all-rounder thanks to thier huge array of possible roasting times, extreme flexibility and robust designs. There are 4 versions offering different capabilities and batch sizes. 

All types and blends of coffee can be roasted as you desire, making the tangential roaster perfect for meeting market requirements for greater variety.


The Jupiter roaster is internationally unrivalled when it comes to optimally roasting in the shortest possible time, no matter the quality of the green coffee. Precisely controlled and tangentially supplied roasting air, combined with the mechanical movement of coffee beans by a shovel mechanism with variably controllable speed, ensures heat is ideally transferred from the surface of the beans to their core to ultimately achieve consistent color and moisture content.


The closed roasting container even permits the gentle processing of batches of non-uniform coffee and of the smallest beans. Precisely timed addition of water ensures that the roasting process is finished on point in a controlled manner while also pre-cooling the coffee. The Jupiter roaster guarantees unrivaled product diversity and a stable roasting operation right from the get-go.


Energy loss is also minimised by the roasting system’s insulation. The easy-to-access modular design leads to minimal maintenance, cleaning and repair time.

THE TANGENTIAL ROASTING PROCESS

 The heart of PROBAT’s JUPITER series tangential roaster is a closed and stationary roasting chamber. Specially developed, rotating shovels move and mix the coffee beans around the drum. The flow of hot incoming air transmits the heat onto the beans through convection. The combination of controlled roasting air and mechanically mixed coffee beans creates the perfect transition between the temperature of the bean’s surface and its core. The flow of incoming air can be reduced to a minimum without affecting the movement of the coffee. The addition of water systematically ends the roasting process while simultaneously precooling the roasted coffee.
